(Friday, 21 October 2016, South Africa) As part of Sony Music Entertainment’s expansion across Africa, the entertainment giant label has just announced an exclusive deal with Ycee of Tinny Entertainment, today in South Africa. The unprecedented distribution deal will see the rapper’s first E.P,’ The First Wave’ released under the Sony umbrella. With this move, Ycee joins the likes of Nigerian superstar Davido, as well a few other acts as part of the signees to Sony Music family.

Expressing his excitement at the deal, Ycee posted on Instagram “Great things happening, alongside Tinny Entertainment, I’m so proud to become part of the Sony Music family!!”
This weekend, Ycee who has been nominated in two categories; ‘Best Hip-hop’ and ‘Breakthrough Act’ will be performing at the MTV Africa Music Awards the MAMA’s.
Oludemilade Martin Alejo, popularly known by his stage name YCEE, is a Nigerian rapper and songwriter. He rose to limelight after one of his singles titled “Condo” which features vocals from Patoranking, earned him two nominations at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. He was also nominated in the “Best Artist in African” category at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards. YCEE is also nominated for Best Breakthrough Act & Best Hip Hop Act at this year’s MTV Africa Music Awards taking place in Johannesburg this weekend.
