One of the most famous taxi services in the word “Taxify” changes its brand name to “Bolt” after five years of being in business and two years of business in Nigeria. The brand took to its social media platforms to announce the change a few hours ago but the question it has managed to leave in the minds of customers is, has the business been sold?
However, Taxify is available in about 30 countries and whether it was sold or not, the brand has shown intentions of expansion and says the new name defines them more.

We are happy to announce that Taxify is now Bolt! ⚡️ ? ? Since our launch 5 years ago, Taxify has grown to be more than a taxi app. Now millions of people over the world are using us to move around – be it in a car, on a motorcycle, or riding an electric scooter. It’s time for our name to reflect our mission of building the best way to move in cities. ☝️We are changing our name and logo, but the app with great ride prices and fast arrival times will stay just as good as ever. #taxifygoesbolt
While there was a general announcement, Taxify Nigeria posted… “With our entry into Nigeria over 2 years ago, we had one goal – build the best way to move in all the cities we operate.
We have grown in leaps and bounds over the years and are now aiming to solve transportation needs on a broader scale. Because of this, we are rebranding to take on a new name, one which encompasses our future. Our new name Bolt stands for fast, effortless movement- exactly what you deserve”.
