NOT TO BE BROADCAST!!!
If you had to pay school fees for 7 children in this biting recession, I am sure you too would consider spearheading a nationwide protest.
So Nigerian music Icon and father of many nations Tuface Innocent Idibia made up his mind to confront the government about all the madness going on in the country.
He declared that he will be heading a protest at the National Stadium in Surulere Lagos and at unity fountain Abuja simultaneously on the 6th of February 2017; targeted at various pressing issues like the ruthless killings in the north, the blood thirsty Fulani herdsmen, our free diving economy and to be honest everything else.
After Charlie boy, Daddy showkey, I go die, Davido, Burna boy and even Wizkid had pledged their support, 2baba broke hearts by the millions when he released a video saying the protests were cancelled right after which our dear president postponed his resumption indefinitely. Looking like he had been served a couple of slaps before being filmed, he said the reason for cancellation was due to security threats… Like really?
Let’s not forget that a certain I stand with Buhari group also fixed their rally for the same date as the one initially fixed by 2face.
Now, a handful of people went ahead with the protests including Charlie Boy, Seyi Law and even the commissioner of Police who had initially banned the movement. A few were fully activated from the comfort of their social media while some went to harass Jagaban right in front of his Ikoyi home. Of course there are unconfirmed reports that a few others went after the event was over to carry placards for Snapchat and Instagram stories.
Eventually the vice and acting President Professor Osinbajo acknowledged the protest saying the presidency could hear the people loud and clear. Even though we are not sure if it is the 20 million Naira ear they can hear us with, this protest may have put a couple of things in perspective.
Why did it seem like 2baba was bullied into cancelling the protest? I mean why was the cancellation coincidental with the president’s canceled return to the country? Does it have anything to do with the rumours that PMB might have a fatal health condition? Or was he really sponsored by an opposing party?
And oh, some protestants from the #IstandwithBuhari camp claimed they were paid 1000 Naira each to carry support placards.
Trust me, something is in the air, and it definitely smells like shady business.
