Spotify, through its largest hiphop playlist community -RapCaviar is honouring American superstars 21 Savage, SZA and Metro Boomin with life-sized monumental statues, as it launches the Inaugural RapCaviar Pantheon initiative.

Just in case you’re not sure, The Pantheon is an actual old Roman temple translated as “Temple of every god”.

This is described in a Variety exclusive, as one that will pay tributes to rising stars in unique artistic formats after these stars have been selected based on a combination of data and curation (in keeping with the curatorial approach of the RapCaviar playlist).

Also to Variety, Tuma Basa (Spotify’s Global head of HipHop) shared the vision. He said:

“Pantheon is our way of non-verbally communicating the breakthrough artists of 2017. We’re treating our artists with the importance that Ancient Rome treated its gods. Metro, SZA and 21 all proved this year that they’re here to stay. Their music is forever so why not immortalize their likeness? Greco-Roman Respect Style!”

In a breathtaking marriage of music, ancient Roman history, art and futuristic robotic technology, the sculptures of the adorably eclectic 21 Savage (The Warrior), Love Galoring SZA (The mold breaker) and the multi- talented Metro Boomin (The architect) have all been erected in the urban temple that will now continue to house the forms of trend-setting artistes as gods in their own rights.

A super cool video directed by Director X and narrated by Pharrell accompanied this announcement; documenting the creation process (credited to communications and arts company- SpecialGuest)  and the thought behind the project. Did I mention that the video is the  coolest thing you will see today? (Pardon the petty but thank God it’s on Youtube so that we Nigerians to whom Spotify is not available yet can enjoy it *Rolls eyes to Saturn*).

The art pieces will be publicly exhibited from today the 8th of December, at the Brooklyn Museum.
