Karim Benzema scored a brace for Zidane’s men in both halves to keep Real Madrid’s hopes of topping the group alive, and their unbeaten run comfortably extended.

However, the night didn’t go as planned for the Spanish giants, as goals from current CAF player of the year, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and substitute Marco Reus, cancelled out Benzema’s brace and sent the German club-side top of group F instead.

Although Madrid’s unbeaten run  in all competitions remain intact, the better record of the night went Borussia’s way as the two goals scored broke the record for the most goals in the Champions League group stage by a team (21 goals).
