Burnaboy’s African Giant album nominated for the 2019 Grammy Awards [See Details]

African Giant, Burna boy has just recently been nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best World Music Album category with his album, “African Giant“. The nomination is for albums containing at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental World Music recordings. He is nominated in the same category with Altin Gün (GECE), Bokanté & Metropole Orkest conducted By Jules Buckley (WHAT HEAT), Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet (FANM D’AYITI) and Angelique Kidjo (CELIA).

Yemi Alade’s “Woman of Steel” and Burna Boy’s “African Giant” were the Nigerian albums in the fight to get the Grammy nomination for “Best World Album” but Burna fortunately got the spot. Burna Boy follows in the footsteps of Seun Kuti, Femi Kuti and King Sunny Ade in getting nominated for that category at the Grammy Awards. The award event is set to hold on 27th January 2020 and will be hosted by Alicia Keys.

Some artistes who feel excited and optimistic about the news took to their social media pages to congratulate the singer.
