Yesterday, Monday (January 28), the internet burned after a list of the Grammy winners for the upcoming 2019 awards leaked online. And the posts allegedly got the list of winners from the official website of The Grammys and even had a video of from the website confirming the list.
Among the list, Drake’s “God’s Plan,” Travis Scott’s Astroworld, Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “All The Stars,” Cardi B, and H.E.R. were the big hip-hop winners. It all seemed pretty sketchy, and arguments got pretty heated online.
Apparently, the leaked winners are fake. A spokesperson for the Recording Academy spoke with Complex and released the statement: “There is no legitimacy to this. GRAMMY Awards results are not shared, even with Recording Academy staff members, until the day of the GRAMMY Awards ceremony, when names of the recipients are delivered by Deloitte in sealed envelopes.”
The official Grammys Awards is set to hold on Sunday, February 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
We will update you with the official list of winners after the event holds.
