Lady Donli’s ‘Poison’ Video is Quite Underwhelming And Here’s Why

I get that Lady Donli’s music is alternative and not for everyone, but, I feel like she’s trying too hard not to be Nigerian in her music. I’d call her an ‘American Wanabe’ but that would be too harsh being that I’m a fan of Donli.

Is her poison video cool? Maybe. The only thing African or even Nigerian in the video are her and the other black dude in the video who posed as her lover. The song itself is Ok but as I mentioned, it reeked of her trying too hard to say and prove she’s different. We get it, you’re different, but once a while add a few pinches of Nigeria or Africa to your song because that video is very ambiguous and one cannot tell what country you’re from.
