Regardless of what you have been made to believe or what your inner critic is screaming out, it is extremely hard to organise a great show. We’ve all attended/watched concerts and have had our reservations; whether good or bad, but in actual fact, there are so many important things involved in making a concert a success (so important, that forgetting even one thing can quickly turn your concert into a disaster).
As an artist, before you think of organising a show for your fans to see you live, vibe with you, and enjoy a good time, there are a couple of things you should bear in mind so that nothing but positive reviews are given about your concert and both those in attendance and the ones who missed out will be looking forward to your next one.
Read some great tips about planning and making your concerts great below:
Get the right ambience/atmosphere
The atmosphere is one of the most important things for fans attending to your concert. Always remember that a fan will always want to fit into the crowd you have planned the concert for. For example, Olamide usually does his OLIC at Eko Hotel and Suites, but in 2017, he changed the location to Teslim Balogun Stadium. Now the people who couldn’t go for his concerts at Eko Hotel surely went for OLIC 2017, while many people who live on the Island didn’t bother going for his concert held at Teslim Stadium. It wasn’t because neither party didn’t feel like going, it was mainly because the atmosphere in either location wouldn’t have been something they’d have related to. The ambience is key! Try to create a sub-niche around your concert; like maybe the age-group or the kind of people you are expecting at your concert.
