Former richest rapper in the world, Diddy, in a phone interview with The Breakfast Club, took some time out to air his views on the hottest topic in the hip-hop industry right now; Drake and Pusha T’s beef.
When he was asked about the ongoing rap beef, Diddy explained that it was all part of the game and that this was the toughest opponent Drake had ever had a beef with.
“It’s a part of Hip Hop,” he said. “If you’re trying to be the best MC, there is going to be battles. At this juncture in time, it’s like kind of safe. When we was having battles, it was getting unsafe. I think this is the most skilful artist that Drake has come up against. And Drake likes the smoke, he loves the smoke.”
Diddy also agreed with J. Prince that the jabs were getting ugly and said Drake listening to the track and not replying was a wise move. He also compared the situation to Notorious B.I.G and Tupac’s beef, revealing he had advised Biggie not to respond to the infamous “Hit ‘Em Up” diss in an effort to avoid violence.
But ultimately, Diddy believes Drake took the L since he didn’t respond, although him not responding isn’t going to affect Drake’s career.
“It’s all good,” he said. “Life moves on.”
