2019 VGMAs: Burna Boy Wins African Artiste of the Year, Shatta Wale Brawls on Stage

The biggest names in Ghanaian and African music gathered at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) for the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

The night saw renowned artists and producers take home many coveted awards, while our very own Burna Boy won big on the night by taking home the African Artist of the Year award.

King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Joe Mettle, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, and Stonebwoy all vied for the ‘Artiste of the Year’ award, while R2Bees, Sarkodie, Joe Mettle, No Tribe & Nacee, Shatta Wale, Okyeame Kwame, Stonebwoy, Samini, Efya, and Becca contested for the ‘Artiste of the Decade’.

Shatta Wale also had a brawl on stage with Stonebwoy (pictured below) after the latter received the award for the Dancehall artist of the Year.
